The Finance Minister announced a 0.75 per cent discount on purchases of petrol and diesel using credit or debit cards, e-wallets and mobile wallets.

People buying monthly seasonal tickets in suburban railway networks through digital modes will get a 0.5 per cent discount, Jaitley added.

This measure, he said, will be effective from January 1 next year, and the Mumbai suburban railways will be the first to implement it.

He also has given some incentive to people who dine out with their families. Most of the restaurants nowadays don’t give you extra pyaaz with your meal and there is frequently a fight between the customers and owners regarding the same.

But Arun Jaitley has ordered the owners to give extra pyaaz if the customer pays through debit and credit cards. This will make more customers pay by the cards medium rather than cash which is unaccounted in the revenue system.
