Suresh Raina has withdrawn his name from the first two ODIs against the New Zealand team due to high fever. Team doctor has advised him rest and he has not been allowed to do any practice for the next couple of days.
Meanwhile Indian captain Virat Kohli will have to include Kedhar Jhadav in the second game as well. But that’s not the end to the issue. Our sources have come to know that Raina’s fever has converted to viral fever after coming to know that the 3rd ODI pitch at Mohali will have steep bounce for the bowlers.
As we all know Raina’s skill set against bouncers is the same as the acting skill set possessed by Tushar Kapoor.
Raina has informed the team management about his latest condition and has vowed to make it to the 4th ODI at Ranchi. He has even contacted the Ranchi curator in person and asked about the bounce we will get to see in Ranchi, reports are not clear yet and we hope to see Raina soon in the blue jersey.
There is other news coming in that Kedar jadhav has bribed the Ranchi curator to add bounce to the wicket.
All we know that Raina is a very important player, of course for the New Zealand team and his presence will decide the fate of the series.
After losing all the Tests in a series they would have been hopeful of doing well in, Kane Williamson managed to retain some humor, but he knew his side was done in by a mix of difficult conditions for them, the quality of their opposition in those conditions, and their own lack of application at times.
According to Williamson, they dint lose, because their main purpose to come to India was for collecting Reliance Jio sim cards. Data charges are pretty high in New Zealand and the whole New Zealand team had decided that this was the best time to visit India.
Most of the test matches are finished in 4 days and all NZ cricketers were seen near a Reliance Digital outlet on the 5th day. Kane Williamson has taken cards for his family members also and has personally thanked Mukesh Ambani for this nice gesture.
Indian team meanwhile are confused whether to celebrate the victory or just focus on the next series. They have requested the Indian Government to not issue any sim cards to the English team which would be touring our country in November.
On the eve of the 3rd test match to be played in Indore, test captain Virat Kohli has shown faith in Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir has been scoring heavily in the domestic circuit and deserved a final chance, which he will want to grab with both hands.
Kohli had never doubted the abilities of Gambhir as a cricketer and has given him an added responsibility on his came back. He wants Gautam to be the finisher in test cricket.
He wants Gautam to finish the career of Shikhar Dhawan. He wants Gautam to score so many runs that it becomes impossible for Shikhar to make a comeback.
Gambhir has never finished anyone’s career till now, though he tries to finish his own by showing constant frustrations on the ground. This is a great chance for him to seal his place as a finisher. He was seen practicing hard on the eve of the match, in fact he dint allow anyone else to bat in the nets. He had to be taken out of the nets by Anil Kumble and Sanjay Bangar to allow others to practice.
Shikhar Dhawan has been criticized a lot off late for his batting failures. But the very latest criticism levied on him by a commentator is of the highest order. Shikhar had lost his batting spot to the talented KL Rahul, but Rahul’s injury came as a much wanted lifeline for Shikhar.
Expectations were huge on Dhawan’s shoulders, and Dhawan did what he always does; not fulfilling those expectations. Virat had given him a chance inspite of having a senior opener like gambhir in the team.
One of the Hindi commentators named Bablu Chaurasia has accused Dhawan of creating a bad name in history books. Apparently, in the 2nd test match Dhawan became the first cricketer in history to get injured while returning from the batting crease to the pavilion after spending just 2-3 minutes on the crease.
This is a serious record and no one will come close to break it in the several years to come. Shikhar is proud to finally have his name carved in the history of the gentleman’s game. BCCI will felicitate him when he plays next, which by the way might take some while, given his present form.
