Ishant Sharma went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 auctions on Monday. He was the last player to be up for the auction in the pacers section in the morning session with a base price of INR 2 crores. Ishant, who has been the spearhead of the Indian pace attack for some time now, could not attract any buyer.
Ishant had earlier represented Deccan Chargers (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), while his last season was with the (then) new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).
The filmmakers are fighting for the rights to tell this gruesome story of injustice to an enormous talent. Director Ram Gopal Varma has promised to make and release the biopic in next 2 months. The title of the biopic will be ‘Ishant – The Unsold Story’. Ramu has promised that he will make the movie as honestly as he made ‘Ramu ki Aag’. The casting of the movie has already started with tall models being called for the auditions. But Ramu has asked Ishant to play himself, as Ishant would be free during the IPL season.
